It’s been a long time since I read a book in 24 hours, this one had me totally gripped! Each chapter ended with me wanting to know more immediately - a fantastic suspense thriller.

Gina has the perfect boyfriend, she’s made sure of it. Owen is a forty-something professional with a great career ahead of him. He is head over heels in love with Gina and after only a few weeks of being in a relationship together, takes her home to meet his parents for the weekend.

At this point we meet Marta and Grant, the seemingly perfect in-laws-to-be. Owen is so excited to bring his family together but little does he know, they all have their own agenda for the weekend and it isn’t the same as his!

This book is full of twists and turns and made me want to keep reading all the way through. The characters were shockingly deceptive and their backstories are the stuff of nightmares! All of the characters have their own personalities that shine through in the book. They all stand out for various reasons and as the plot unravels you piece together the tragedy of what has taken place.

Without giving spoilers, the end of the book for me was a fantastic way to bring the whole story together and I didn’t feel let down by the finale in any way at all.

Really looking forward to reading more of Emily Shriner’s books if this one is anything to go by.

Question for discussion: If you were Gina, could you have gone to Marta and Grant’s house for the weekend?
