Is our fate pre-ordained or can our actions change it? If you were approached by a stranger telling you the age and reason for your death, would you want to listen? Can you live a “normal” life after hearing that information?
I loved this book right from the outset. I’ve never been a fan of Liane Moriarty before reading this book. I have previously found her writing style difficult to enjoy. This book has made me an out-and-out fan! The way she sets the scene and writes the plot, intertwining so many interesting characters is purely magical. I couldn’t put this book down.
Cherry’s character - the old lady who tells people their “fortune” on a passenger flight, develops throughout the book as we learn more about her past and why she did what she did. Alongside this are multiple characters whose journeys are closely followed after the flight. I found myself routing for all of them, wanting them to survive their “fate”.
My only negative was the volume of characters in the story. I did find it hard to remember everyone clearly. This really didn’t make me enjoy the book any less and I highly recommend it.
