Harry Potter Book Night at Waterstones Winchester The Brooks

On 1st February, fans are gathering across the country to enjoy the fourth annual Harry Potter Book Night. Since its launch in 2015, Harry Potter Book Night has quickly established itself as one of the biggest events in the literary calendar, enjoyed by fans of all ages in bookshops all around the world. The annual event aims to keep the Harry Potter magic alive and to encourage younger readers to discover the adventures of the boy wizard for the first time. This year’s theme is Fantastic Beasts, the original cornucopia of mythical creatures which sit at the very heart of the Harry Potter stories, and the inspiration behind the popular film franchise of the same name.

At Waterstones Winchester The Brooks we are looking forward to pupils from local primary schools visiting on 1st February for a wizarding day out.

Other aspiring wizards are invited to join in the fun at Waterstones during opening hours, 9am-5.30pm, on Saturday 3rd February when the bookshop will celebrate with a niffler treasure hunt, wizarding sweets, and the chance to win a prize in our design-your-own beast competition.

Jo, Bookshop Manager at Waterstones Winchester The Brooks says

“We love Harry Potter Book Night at Waterstones, it’s always brilliant fun to plan and host! Sharing the Hogwarts magic with our customers is such a joy and we hope our celebrations will inspire the next generation of readers to become fans too.”
